I am an old soul who has walked through fire more times than I can count — and I have been burnt. But I did not walk away disfigured. I walked away carrying the scars of truth and wisdom.
I have known poverty, abandonment, homelessness, incarceration. I have battled eating disorders, lost custody of my firstborn son, and survived suicide attempts that could have ended my story.
